BearPaw, Setapak

Tuesday 4pm, my bf purposely brought me to Setapak to try this BearPaw since i hav no idea wat to eat and it was my first meal. lol. BearPaw is located at G-6 PV128Jalan Genting Klang, Setapak.

Whole wheat bun + ham & cheese + tartar sauce

They look cute and creative isnt it? =D BearPaw is originated in Taichung, Taiwan. It is the first and only franchise in malaysia. Now they are having a value set promotion from 11am-2pm, 5pm-8pm. A BearPaw + drink only $9.90!! But too bad the time was 4pm when we were there. ='(( Between, they selling rice set and french fries is the only side order =P

How to order ur BearPaw? 

1. Bun - milk bun/brown sugar/whole wheat. 

2. Patty - spicy chicken/ham/fish fillet. 

3. Sauce - Chili/thousand island/tartar/honey mustard/terriyaki 

Honestly, the taste of BearPaw is juz normal. The bun is soft and quite big. hehehehe. only can say tat it juz a normal sandwich/burger with a cute and creative BearPaw bun ^^

Whisk Espresso Bar + Bake Shop, One Utama

It was 3 pm. I and my bf were tapped in One Utama shopping mall coz of the heavy rain and we have a dinner to catch at 7pm.  Getting tired of walking, we decided to take a rest with some desserts or coffee. The first thought popped in my mind – WHISK Espresso Bar & Bake Shop, located in One Utama Old Wing, right beside of Starbucks Signature.

WHISK - KL’s first ever Coffee Bar + Bake shop. It has another outlet which is located at Empire Shopping Gallery in Subang Jaya. According to their FB information, WHISK aim to educate +serve decent cups + cakes +macaroons 7 days a week, with good music of course.

I get to know about WHISK from my frens. Everytime I ask for nice coffee place, many of them said that WHISK is the place will never disappoint u. When I stepped in the café, I found that the interior design is amazing. The place is small with cozy ambience. Wood furniture, simple-designed chairs and tables, crowded but noise free environment, nothing fancy but it feels so comfortable and relaxing, and for a moment that I thought I was home.

Dessert 

We had a cup of hot latte here. Opprs, picture forgotten =P Having a cup of hot latte in a raining day is surely an enjoyment. The Latte is smooth and creamy, steamed milk was in fine temperature. The only let down is it came without any latte art =’((

Besides that, the way they display the cakes look attracting and yummy under the spotlight.  Was thinking to order a slice of cake but it is clearly not a good timing as we will be attending a dinner in less than 2 hours. Maybe next time ^^

Umai-Ya Japanese Restaurant, Uptown

Big big sun, Hot hot sunny day. having some "cool" food is a good choice isnt it? definitely not steamboat or somespicyfood!!!DingDingDing!! my always favorite - Japanese cuisine. UMAI-YA!! Here we came =D Umai-ya has three outlets - IOI Boulevard Puchong,  KLCC, and Damansara Utama PJ which I usually visit to.

Traditional Japanese style with cozy and welcoming ambiance. Well space planing - tatami style seating for the front dining room and divided by wood frame. We were super hungry, ended up ordering 2 sets of meal, 1 maki hand roll, and a side dish.

Ladies set come with mushroom miso soup, green salad, some sushi and fruits. It is very worthy that u can enjoy the foods with good quality and quantity at $22. The mushroom soup was fine. The sushi are surprisingly fresh, much better than I expected. Green salad is big in portion, and full of crabstck instead of vegetables. Fruits, are just fruits, after all =P

Sizzling Mixed Seafood set ($35)

Sizzling oysters, prawn, salmon and squid with spicy mayo sauce, served with rice, salad, miso soup and fruits. Overall, it was ok but not really impressive. For me, it is a bit too oily.

Kaki Tofu Fried ($18)

Kaki Tofu Fried!! If any of u ask me for recommend dish in Umai-Ya, i ll definitely go for this Kaki Tofu Fried. From the picture in the menu book, u might think tat it juz a normal deep fried tofu. then u r totally wrong. Crispy outer tofu skin with juicy fresh oyster inside!! eat together with the Japanese mayo!! PERFECT!!  MUST TRY!!!!

Dragon Maki ($25)

One of the reason i like Umai-Ya is the irresistible Maki (japanese roll) =D other than Dragon maki, i have tried the Salmon Kimchi Maki, Botanic Garden Maki, Summer Maki etc. This time we ordered Dragon Maki. Tempura prawn wrapped in the sushi rice, glorious unagi and slices avocado on top. The texture is totally opposite to the Kaki Tofu Fried - crunchy inside and juicy outside - textually.   

UMAI-YA has lunch buffet in every weekend, 11.30 am - 2.30 pm (last order at 2 pm), RM 58++ per pax. BUT, it is only available at Damansara Utama and IOI Boulevard branch.

So far, Umai-Ya is the top 3 of the Japanese restaurant in my list. hehehehehehe. Between, i went to Coco Tei Japanese restaurant for dinner wuth my brother. Will blog about it soon =D

Coffee Stain by Joseph, Publika

730pm. o? go bac home at 730pm? it is too early isnt it? hahahhaha me and my bf had an early dinner and finished it at 730pm. but dont feel like going bac home, it is too early =P. So i suggested to go to hav some coffee or dessert. Hmmm, Publika Coffee Stain by Joseph den =)) since i haven tried their coffee, juz knew tat they can do very nice latte art and highly recommended by my frens.

Cute bear for my cappuccino ($7.50)

If you are an amateur coffee drinker, Coffee Stain is a good place to go. I had a cup of Cappucinno as usual. The Cappuccino was smooth and creamy, but i prefer stronger taste for my coffee, so i will try to order double shot for the next visit ^^.  Yea, Coffee Stain not only serve coffee and dessert, they hav western food for brunch and dinner. I will come and try their food in some others day. =D =D they look yum in the pic on the menu. hehehehe

CheongSam is the love for CNY

Hehehehehehe  =P a little bit little bit more about my CNY. something tat i would like to share with u guys.Every year, i m so looking forward to the big big family reunion dinner party with my mother's side on Chor 2. Coz i can meet up all my relatives in one time. heheheehhe

YEA!! and this year, up to 200ppls attended to the reunion dinner party. We started it from 4pm and ended around 11pm - 7-8hours!!! WOW!!!

Other than eat, we hav some activities and also played some fun 'games' during the gathering. Such as karaoke, dancing, creative fashion design, the fastest tangerine with pattern, shout loud loud etc (i believe most of u dont get wat i mean, anyway they r some games prepared by one of my aunt ^^ )

And of coz!!! there r some presents for the winner =D Guess wat!! me and my cousins (5 ppls in a group) won the first runner up for the fashion design game!! too bad i didnt take any photo coz i was having fun and my phone wasnt with me. ><!!

YEA!!! exactly. i totally agree with it!!!!continuenousely lavish dinner, irresistible CNY biscuit and soft drinks, non-stop eating, lost control!!! hahahhaha. i had a big fat snakey year <3  =D =D wat about u guys? =D =D

The Ming Room at BSC

Chinese New Year is over. (everyone knew it =P) But i insist to blog about my CNY. heheheheh. I believe everyone know 捞生 lou shang/yu sang right? It usually served as the appetizer due to its symbolism of "good luck" for the new year.

Somehow I love to eat yu sang XD perhaps i like peanut and sesame ^^ One of the most delicious yu sang i ever had was in The Ming Room. Chor 6, celebrated my bf's uncle's birthday at The Ming Room BSC. It was a surprise bday dinner. hahahaha. His son flied all the way bac from UK secretly. so sweet ya!! We hav around 50ppls attended to this bday dinner and also it was my first time visit to this restaurant.

 YU SANG 

Of coz, yu sang always the first dish to serve. hehehehe. i was so excited and cant wait for it. This yu sang served with deep fried soft shell crab instead of raw salmon. A word to describe it - yummy!!After Lou yu sang, some main courses served one by one . I can only tell u guys tat the quality of THE food at The Ming Room is 4/5 =D =D especially the Fo Tiao Qiang, prawn, fish and the abalone with tofu dishes. oppprsssy edi mentioned almost 70% of the food..hehehehehehe =P

Fo Tiao Qiang

Preparing Fo Tiao Qiang is difficult and time-consuming, for it brings together more than 10 ingredients. The Ming Room's chef did a good job!! Simply irresistible!

The Prawn Dish served in 3 different flavors

The presentation of the prawn dish is quite impressive and creative. Each tray represents different flavor, with the prawn served readily on a spoon. Thai style prawn - sourish yet appetizing. Prawn with Wasabi mayo - salad-liked prawn coz it served with rock melon. I think it is special and I like it so much. Salty deep fried prawn - prawn in salty sauce, personally feel it taste weird, nothing special but just salty.

Abalone with grilled tofu

For this dish, i like the tofu more than the abalone =P. Crispy outer crust of the tofu has elevates the dish. Meanwhile, the abalone is tender and could be cut easily with fork and knife. A good taste of abalone is very much depends on the gravy and the cooking skill, and I believe The Ming Room is surely capable of handling this dish.

Steamed Giant Grouper with soy sauce

Giant Grouper is considered as treasure due to the high demand and tight supply, its price tend to be higher than other fishes. The special thing about Giant Grouper is, it has thicker skin compare to others fish. And guess what?  I like to eat fish skin. hahahahaha. The fish is cooked perfectly by the chef, neither overcook nor undercook. The fish remains its freshness and tenderness. YUM =D

Roasted Suckling Pig with sticky rice

I can't comment much about this dish coz I don't like pork. So i didn't even try a bite on it. Basically, they are roasted on a spit at high temperature with some spices. I'm not quite sure about that. But, I think it tastes good coz everyone enjoyed and finished the dish except me.

Hasma dessert 

As tradition, it will always be a dessert a k a 糖水 at the end of the dinner. The dessert of that night was Hasma dessert. Nothing much to describe about it really. It served with several of ingredients as u can see in the pictures. 

Of course, there must be a cake in every birthday party! We have 2 cakes here! one is the chocolate Mille Crepe from Red Bean Bag and the other is the red velvet from a random aunty in PJ.=D =D I love the Mille Crepe so so so much!! I think I will start to visit to those cafe that serve Mille Crepe after this. =D

I enjoyed the night with my bf and his big family. Happy to meet those cousins. They are so friendly and fun. Hope to see them soon again. =D (maybe in the next family dinner party)

Jack The Giant Slater

Morning woke up early in the morning n feel like blogging. so, super duper short blog here about last night movie. Yea, my Saturday was awesome. It was simple yet happie Saturday. Watched movie with a bunch of frens at Village Mall after dinner with my bf. Jack the Giant Slater is a likable film with simple plot. im not going to describe too much and here is the trailer .hehehhehehe.coz today is Sunday!! Go go go =D =D go and watch it with ur family and frens. Hope u guys enjoy the movie and hav a good Sunday ya^^
