Antipodean Cafe - An-tip-o-de-an

Hunting for a cup of good coffee, here I came to Antipodean. I've been hearing good reviews of the cafe from my friends for long. It is an Aussie + NZ style cafe, serving hearty food. The cafe is so crowded and busy especially during the weekend.

TIPS - If you put 4 persons in the waiting list, then you will only get the table when everyone is arrived. in other word, they don't accept customer to come 1 by 1 to avoid long time occupying the table.

Located in Jalan Telawi 2, Bangsar.

The interior of the cafe. Mostly in red and black.

You will never find the menu in your hand in Antipodean. Guess what? Its all written on a big chalkboard on the wall where u can easily spot them!! I think it is creative and unique, and it actually helps to reduce their waitress workload in a way. You can take your time choosing the foods, but I am afraid that some people will feel dizzy after looking at the menu from top to the bottom.

TIPS - Don't sit at the table under the menu. You will feel disturbed when the others come closer to you for the menu.

Americano a.k.a Long Black. $8

Cappucino and Cafe Latte. $9 for each.

Antipodean is using high quality Merdeka coffee - an Indonesia brand coffee bean. Their coffee have big price range, from Espresso ($6) to Kopi Luwak Plunger ($40).

Smoked Salmon Omelette. $20

The way they made the omelette is different from the others that I've ever seen. I wonder how many eggs are used because it so big =X It taste slightly salty because of the smoked salmon, but is considered acceptable. I personally think that the omelette is best served with HEINZE chili sauce and black pepper =D

TIPS - I strongly recommend you to add extra cheese into this smoke salmon omelette because it tasted really really really juicy and NICE!!

Cheese omelette / Cheese + Mushroom. $17

For those who don't like salmon, here's a omelette with mushroom and cheese for you. The portion are generous. It is juicy, creamy and fluffy. I suggest you to share with others unless you are very hungry or you are a true egg lover ( like my bf  =P ) One thing I found it special about the omelette in Antipodean is, they will never lose the heat. It is still warm inside the omelette until the last bite.

Red Soup. $12

Tomato + capsicum soup. Honestly it isn't really impressive. But this is the only choice for soup in here.

Antipodean cafe is always one of the best choices for brunch. If u try google "best brunch in KL", u will easily find the cafe listed in many bloggers favorite choice. The cafe has another branch in KL, Menara Tan & Tan. I've never been to there but I think it is a good idea to avoid the crowd in the Bangsar branch.

Red BeanBag a.k.a RBB

I've been thinking to start blogging all the time but ended up reading people's blog instead of starting my own blog. The reason being is I love food so so so much and I need a place for me to keep all those yummy foods that I've tried!! =D =D =D
Having brunch is a daily must for me, so do a cup of coffee <3 <3  I've been trying out different cafe and today I'm gonna talk about one of my favorite cafe, the Red Bean Bag.

RBB is located in Publika Solaris Dutamas (upstairs of Dr.Cafe Coffee). It is a modern contemporary Australian-inspired cafe. The sofa seats and the wooden furniture create a friendly environment. The menu is printed on recycled paper and it is pasted on cardboard. They serve yummy foods and the price is reasonable enough for such quality. As an extreme brunch-lover, I've been craving for Aussie-style brunch in KL because I got so addicted to it when I was in Melbourne. I've tried out plenty of foods in RBB on my first visit with my boyfie.

Cappuccino ($8) <3 A strong, nutty Bonito blend of coffee beans is sourced from Rubra in Perth.

Egg Atlantic V2.0 ($17.90). Poached egg with hollandise sauce, asparagus, mushrooms and smoked salmon topped on French-toasted bread instead of English muffin.
Egg Benedict (S15.90). Basically the same ingredient as Egg Atlantic V2.0 but the smoked salmon is replaced with beef bacon.

There are two ways of enjoying Egg Benedict. The first way is to spread the yolk on the bread while the other way which is my boyfie recommended - do not touch the yolk until you shape the bread into the same size as the yolk. Then, put them all together in one shot - let the yolk BURST and ROLL in your mouth!! =D
Tomato Soup ($12). We will definitely order a soup to share every time. The soup is rich in tomato taste and topped with some tiny crunchy breads. *The soup is served after 11 a.m.*

OHYA! I also ordered the specialty baked egg ($17.90) - too bad i forgot to take the picture =(
*picture copy from internet*

With egg cracked into a baking dish of lamb bratwurst, sun-dried tomatoes, potatoes and cheese, baked into perfection and served with crusty bread. We enjoyed the first visit to RBB so much and the impression is really really good =D I actually visited here for dinner and will blog about it next time *wink

*Tips* Breakfast menu serve until 3:00 pm and the lunch & dinner menu serve after 11:00 am.
